Fairs, festivals and markets: the Osona showcase

These events, which have either gastronomy, history or culture as their main themes, attract a large number of visitors, both from the region itself and from outside.

 

Brigands, sausage meats, board games, medieval times, chestnuts, mountains, music, nuts, wild mushrooms ... all these issues come together every autumn in Catalonia with a large number of fairs and popular festivals spread throughout the territory. 

Taking advantage of these fairs, festivals and markets, Osona displays everything it has to offer and becomes a showcase for the economic and social fabric of each locality. The region, therefore, once again shows off its strengths in terms of nature and local products, as well as its passion for popular culture and tradition.

October 13^th and 14^th: OLD WALNUT FAIR - MONTESQUIU

The stands of walnuts and products made with walnuts (cheese, cakes, ratafia, etc.) are a feature of this event.

 

October 14^th: WILD MUSHROOM FESTIVAL - SEVA

The wild mushroom and its culinary properties is the great protagonist in one of the region’s most renowned gastronomic events.

 

October 21^st: SANT GALDERIC FAIR - TAVÈRNOLES

This fair aims to show visitors the attractions of the town and the gastronomy it has to offer.

 

October 28^th: ‘FOREST ON THE TABLE’ FAIR - SORA

A day of learning and festivities which strives every year to raise awareness about how we eat and live.

 

October 27^th-28^th: CHESTNUT FAIR - VILADRAU

The event combines culture, nature and the affirmation of the Montseny and Viladrau chestnut.

 

Every Sunday in October: BUFET POTATO MARKET - ORÍS

Every Sunday morning in October, Orís opens its doors to offer us one of the products of the land with the greatest character and quality: the bufet potato.

 

November 4^th: ROCAGUINARDA FAIR - OLOST

Bubonic plague, harlots and history meet in an event that seeks to revive the episodes of the famous brigand.

 

November 9^th, 10^th, and 11^th: MOUNTAIN FAIR - VIC

The fair has a host of sporting, cultural, and commercial activities programmed that are related to nature, with proposals for all ages.

 

November 16-25^th: MOUNTAIN CINEMA FESTIVAL - TORELLÓ

Every year the festival screens and puts in competition the best movies in the world on activities related to mountains and nature.

 

December 1^st to 9^th: FIRA DE L’AVET - ESPINELVES

One of the don’t-miss events for immersing yourself in the Christmas spirit.

 

December 1^st to 2^nd: CHRISTMAS FAIR - SANT VICENÇ DE TORELLÓ

The town’s organisations and businesses offer and exhibit products related to the theme of Christmas.

 

December 2^nd: JOC JOC FAIR - TONA

At the fair you can touch, try out and play with both the latest and the most traditional games.

 

December 6^th to 9^th: MEDIAEVAL MARKET- VIC

The streets of the city’s historic quarter go back to mediaeval times with exhibitors with a wide and varied range of goods on offer.

 

December 15^th to 16^th: TRUFFLE FAIR - CENTELLES

Visitors can learn about, taste, buy and have fun with truffles.
